Joanna joined the CRLC staff in September 2001. She began playing the organ for worship services at the age of 16 and achieved the Bachelor of Music (Church Music) degree in 1977 from Wittenberg University, Springfield OH and a Master of Arts (Church Music) degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus OH in 2000. She is an active member of Choristers Guild and the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, serving as their national advertising coordinator. Joanna also teaches private piano lessons.

Joanna is married to David P Anderson, pastor of St Matthew Lutheran Church in Medina. They have 2 adult daughters, Marikka in Chicago and Meredith in Strongsville, OH.

"My personal mission statement is to lead the assembly in its song in worship and to plan worship which reflects the whole body of Christ and draws us into relationship with God and with other believers. I am called to do this through leadership in worship on the piano and organ, in leadership with the choirs (who serve as worship leaders) and through team leadership with other volunteers and staff. We use the talents with which God has gifted each of us, and raise our voices in confession, praise, proclamation, and prayer. The Holy Spirit 'gathers us around Jesus Christ in word and sacrament, and sends us, enlivened, to share the good news of life in God.'"
